phish and jay-z. i don't need to say anything else. i think the gigantic smile on page's face says it all for me.
phish (or "THE phish" as peter jennings calls them) playing big cypress to death on the eve of the millenium...the infamous show that ended up being the biggest gathering on earth, statistically, on the eve of the millenium with 85,000 people. the weekend of the festival had phish playing 16 hours in two days, including a 7 1/2 hour second set on new year's eve (after a nearly 4 hour first set, for an almost 12 hours of constant music). this was early on in the night, before midnight:
aaaaand...my eyes are falling out of my head finally, so let's end with some wilco.
okay, i take that back. here's one last great combination: jack white and mick jagger. it's a great video to watch for how obviously face-exploding happy jack looks to be on stage with mick and keith if nothing else.
