i've written some more song material lately, but not a lot coherent since the explosion that fostered those three songs i upped last week. i'm crested that creative hill i think for the time being and reached that point again where being pensive and self-analyzing has become a barrier rather than an aid. once you think about your life long enough, all the songs start to sound the same and you need to get a little distance again before you can say or write or think anything that sounds new to you (i.e. something that's worth singing).

i've written some more music, just no songs to go with it. on the other hand, i finally finished ripping my 18 hours of analog video footage from about 2000 to 2007 onto my hard drive (in preparation for getting, hopefully by this time next year or so) a digital videocamera. oh, and i'm also going to take all of that footage and make it into menu'd DVDs for all the people that it might be of interest to. there's some pretty great stuff on there, from the hourlong tape of walking along a footpath on the very edge of the grand canyon, to the amateur action "film" my roommates and i shot when i was in college, to a bunch of footage of a few of my drives on I-90 to matt and i lip-synching to journey songs in costume, to my brother and i trashing the dining area of a luxury cruise ship. i'm hoping to be able to sort it all out into something moderately coherent. but that's next on the project list.
