i'm totally stealing (read: copying and pasting, oh nooooo) these links from one of my favorite blogs, but i'm pretty sure that's within the bounds of blog etiquette since i'm not hotlinking anything. firefox spellcheck doesn't recognize "hotlinking" as a word. that's irony for you.

but if you put it in quotes, apprently it is a word. "snorkified". whoa.

anyway, i just came upon the existence of these things called black sessions and white sessions, which are apparently recorded by lots of good indie rock artists at some radio station in france, and are pretty much the bee's knees. almost equitemporally (holy fuck, that's a word!) to my discovering this, the abovementioned blog posted sessions from the national and feist, who i've been listening to obsessively lately. rather than upload these myself, i figured i'd point you at the blog links and maybe get them a few more readers. so here you go:

i'm spinning some good old '96 vintage phish and some '05 cardinals right now; i might throw a track or two up here later. also, at some point today when i become completely demoralized from job searching i'm going to finish up the march mixtape (no, i didn't forget. ha!). it's a wacky one, so i'm having a bit of trouble getting the tracks to flow right. but i'll get it. it's the only thing i know how to do well. except eat french fries.
