so most of yesterday morning and afternoon blew by in an angry red haze of destruction as i spent about seven more hours soundtesting various set-ups with my mics and distortionated guitar sound. i made a little more progress and think i can pretty much accomplish the sound i want now. the only two problems are 1) that i like the opening track the way that it already is, which means if i keep it it will sound a lot different than the rest of the record because i recorded it in a completely different way and 2) i spent 15 hours in recording-world this weekend and have absolutely nothing tangible to show for it. so i suppose i made progress, but it's a little depressing too in that none of that progress actually amounted to anything anyone can listen to.
i suppose it was better than last weekend in that i wasn't just zoning out all weekend and hiding from the world. i only did that during the nights :) i watched a bunch more movies this weekend (of course), and it looked for awhile like i was also going to have a new part-time internet job, but i haven't heard anything back for a few days now, so it's looking sort of like it's not gonna happen. i'll wait a few more days and then if i don't hear anything i'll try looking for something else again.
i'd write more by i just OD'd on diet coke and i think i need to take a walk or something instead of trying to string words into sentences.
