nerdy but happy

this is so nerdy, but since SOME people seem to think this blog is all about moping and whining (eat my ass), maybe this will leaven the purportedly flat, crunchy, angry bread a bit.

for three years i've been a member of the RAA, and it's hands-down the best internet community of any sort that i've ever been a part of in nearly 15 years of internet surfing. they have easily over 15,000 memebers at this point and yet on any given day there are not only not 100 flamewars on the boards, there are generally 0. ZERO. for anyone who has participated in message boards, IM, etc. at any point, ever, before...you know how huge that is. and how nice it is. everybody respects what everyone else has to say, people genuinely care about each other, and of course they're ALL OBSESSED WITH RYAN ADAMS. which doesn't hurt.

so i've been downloading and uploading to this site for years, occasionally donating a 20 here and there when it seems affordable (i should actually do that again soon...), and yesterday i was dorkily ecstatic to see that i cracked the top ten uploaders list. keep in mind again, this is out of over 15,000 users who upload and download things. okay, 17,826. i just checked.



so yay for me, but more importantly, yay to the RAA for being the awesome.
