i'm on break for 30 minutes! it's like working at chipotle's again! except i won't get free weed from the guy in the parking lot. that would be fucking sweet. i would love to be high right now. except then i'd have to stop grading, because it wouldn't be fair because the kids with the red and blue ink papers would be better grades than the ones with the black ink papers because the red and blue ones would turn into better animals when i touched them. whoa.
me and my officemate richard started a competition a few months ago, at the beginning of the semester, to see who could drink the most cans of their chosen horribly unhealthy drink: diet coke for me, monster energy drink for him. the purpose of this was twofold: one, good old man-on-man competition, and two, the desire to subtly point out to ourselves how fucking unhealthy our lives are. well, at the end of yesterday, we stopped and added up the ounces in all the bottles, cans, etc. richard had 784 oz of monster (about 6.1 gallons), and i had...784 oz of diet coke. we somehow tied exactly, in quite possibly the weirdest coincidence i've experienced in a really long time.
we now have a huge shrine in the middle of the office built from diet coke and monster containers. i'd take a picture of it, but my camera is (i think) forever broken finally, after i got a bunch of sand in the zooming mechanism while backpacking last weekend and then electrocuted the shit out of myself and the camera's main circuit board yesterday while trying to repair the zooming mechanism with a staple and a dime. not my best moment(s).
i'm still planning on eventually posting some pictures of the trip on here, once i get done with my grading/other stuff bender...maybe like wednesday night.
i've been working about 18-20 hours a day since tuesday, and while the pile is dwindling noticeably, it's still noticeably full of many portfolios.
putting in a presentation proposal for CCCC next year...in san francisco. who said this job didn't have perks? oh yeah, that was me that said that.
radioHEAD.
