...you should check out this free download from trey's new live album "original boardwalk style". it's the horn-laden version of "shine" i was ranting about awhile back when i was doing my whole finals-week-trey thing. it sounds about a million times better as an official master recording. one bad thing about having an 11 person band is that on AUD recordings they still sound like a four person band, if you're lucky. here you can at least hear everyone. "shine" isn't the most explorative (yes, i made that up) or groundbreaking trey song, but it's cool, and i love the horns. definitely preordering this...
(oh, there's also a bit of "plasma" from the album up on trey's myspace page. probably a better sample of his post-phish work. i'll be able to tell you in a minute...yes, yes it definitely is.)
that reminds me, for some reason i haven't bought mason jennings' "in the ever" yet. oh yeah, because the only place to buy CDs in fifty miles is WAL-MART. fuck that shit.
