there is no bunting, only zuul

today i was helping toria out with her library source search for her 101 class, which basically involved me sitting in the microfilm section of the library and rewarding any student who could find a certain NYT article on microfilm with a small token, providing they had already found the four previous tokens they were required to find.

at one point, perched on a stool, dressed semi-absurdly and reading a picture book with a huge lollipop in my lap (i was trying to look as weird as possible), i was approached by a group of students who had found "my" artifact, but not the previous required ones. i told them they'd have to come back once they had all four tokens. the complained at this response and asked if i could just give it to them anyway, to which i replied "i am the gatekeeper!" pause. "are you the keymaster?"

they left shortly thereafter, never to return. i don't think they got the reference.

  1. it's a sad sad world if the kids can't understand ghostbuster references. they probably go around touching pink slime willy nilly. not even thinking about the potential for disaster. scoff. idiots.
