24: 7 for 8

so far this season, "24" has been pretty convincing as far as the whole get-away-from-LA-and-CTU "reboot" thing goes. this week's episode was fantastically tense, despite my cynical comment as the episode started that it would be lame because last week's was so intense and they'd have to take an episode or two to build up to the next crisis. not hardly - the first 15 minutes of this episode were crazy enough that i was surprised at the first commercial break that the clock showed 3:15 instead of 3:45. so, with the exception of parts of episode 5 that drug a bit and the majority of episode 6 being slow (though, to be fair, that's sort of mitigated at this point by the awesomeness of the following episodes), the first third of this season is a near-total success for me.

what's with "house" not having a new episode this week?
