so, in case you hadn't figured out from me constantly posting pictures and referencing it, i really enjoyed the trip to san francisco. the city was pretty amazing (a lot dirtier and rougher and less touristy than i would have imagined, but even better for that rather than worse), the conference itself was really interesting (though my own personal presentation left a bit to be desired), and of course i loved the driving...over 2000 miles in essentially 4 days.
i travelled (obviously) with LD and SD, and though i had some reservations about the adaptability of other people i didn't know that well to my crazy roadtrip mentality, they not only survived, but they were pretty much amazing car-riders and companions. i got lucky when i first arrived in kent and had my own car and went wanderlust-crazy, to have so many friends that really loved spontaneous travelling and could stand up under the implied adversities that come with those experiences, but in the last few years my own busy schedule and the busy schedules of others have combined with the fact that most of my newer(ish) friends are not, as awesome as they as people, the spontaneous, devil-may-care, travelling type. so i was really happy to be able to go on this trip. i felt like it really helped legitimate my desire to remain a kid (at least in some aspects) for about the next 50 years.

also, i've decided to get rid of my SF phish tickets (and by "get rid of", i mean "sell legally for face value") because i'm one ticket away for having 2 for each night at the gorge now, and i need to save some money. considering i'm going into debt (again) already to buy a new videocamera and a bike for this summer-documentary thing, and i'm planning on making a trip to portland/seattle for m.ward/sun kil moon, driving home at some point this summer, and hopefully seeing wilco somewhere in there too...as well as potentially going to SF and fucking LONDON next fall and driving all over hell for my RAship...jesus. that reminds me. i have to get my car fixed.

I just want to point out that if LD and SD were a couple or even relatives, they could be referred to as LSD.
