in addition to having spent almost every hour of my waking life at work in the last few days, i've also run afoul of the semi-suspect water delivery system in my apartment complex again. i thought the maintenance guys has dealt with it a month ago after they tore apart my upstairs neighbors' bathroom, but now my bathroom ceiling is once again ominously sagging and dripping weird orange-brown liquid into my shower and onto the floor.
cleverly, it didn't begin to do so until friday afternoon, when i stopped in to pick up my car and drive back to avery, so i was unable to get anyone in to look at it or stop the leak before the weekend. extra awesomely, i hadn't showered since thursday night...so by the time someone gets in tomorrow (at the earliest) i will have accumulated 4 days worth of ugliness and dirtiness.
this is extreme even for me.
and, now that i've told everyone on the internet, i'm off to grade more papers in the stairwell.

so i got my research papers/packets today. i just spent a good hour just organizing them all according to class and student, and stapling them together. now comes the hour or two it will take to actually record the grades. and then the thirteen hundred days it will take to actually read and comment on them all. i think i'm in over my head, trying to teach a lesson plan for two classes with three classes instead. i've always sort of suspected this, but it wasn't until i got research paper packets the size (each) of my Riverside Chaucer that i knew how deep the shit i was in was:
on the other hand, while i was waiting for papers today, i got to play a little starcraft on the ceiling projector in one of my classrooms, also using the room's audio setup, which is pretty snazzy. then i was interrupted, so i defaulted to coloring pictures of ninja turtles.

it must be the complete absence of student-ness on campus today. i wonder if it's going to be this fast all break. too bad i can't use my school connection to access bittorrent to download COMPLETELY LEGAL LIVE CONCERTS using SPEED THROTTLING because of course all high-bandwidth traffic on a school's internet connection MUST BE COMPLETELY ILLEGAL!!!
sitting in class just getting papers and talking to random students whilst secretly saving the world from the zerg and watching behind-the-scenes "24" videos on fox.com is awesome. i should just do this every class period.

since i'm obviously obsessed with statistics this week (see madden posts), let's take a maddenesque look at my sleeping statistics. on monday night and wednesday night, i totalled almost 25 hours of sleep. however, on sunday night, tuesday night and last night, i have totalled three hours of sleep. there is something very, very wrong with that. and somehow, alternating between sleeping through the entire day and not sleeping at all makes you feel inexplicably worse than just never sleeping at all.
so don't poke the bear. RAWR. and all that.
in other news, the cardinals *gasp* just announced january dates at UCLA and in san diego. you know what that means. it's only a matter of time now. i was already planning routes to seattle, boise, and portland last night, trying to figure out what days the shows could fall on and still allow me to either cancel class only once or not at all.
the bell rings! i'm going to class to wait for people to come in and drop off papers. and mostly play starcraft. possibly on the big projector if i can figure out how. mostly because i'm awesome at starcraft. and at projecting.
